 Warner Bros has beaten off competition from Columbia TriStar, 20th Century Fox and Lumiere Brasil to acquire Brazilian rights to local children s feature Xuxa Pop Star, the third film in domestic TV star Xuxa s franchise.The last Xuxa film - Xuxa Wiggles  Xuxa Requebra  - distributed by 20th Century Fox through its joint venture with Warner, racked up more than two million admissions when it was released during the Brazilian summer, beating other children s films released at the same time including Pokemon and Toy Story 2. The sequel is being lined up for the 2001 summer vacation when it is unlikely to face any local competition. Warner is boarding the film as an equity partner, taking a 25% stake and investing $877,000  Re stanley cup al1.6m  through tax incentives incorporated in Brazil s Audiovisual Law. It will advance $438,000  Real800,000  of this sum to enable the film to start production.Producer Diller Trindade closed the agreement with Warner Bros vice president for Latin America, Redo Farah.  Koreas Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival  PiFan  has announced the It Project market selection with 21 genre film projects.Part of PiFans Network of Asian Fantastic Films  NAFF  initiative, the project markets line-up includes Man On The Edge and My Wife Is A Gangster director Jo Jin-kyus thriller, The Shadow Zone.Organizers report a total of 156 projects from 24 countries were submitted.Other notables include Like, from the Korean horror film screenwriter Son Kwang Soo  Cinderella ; Yubari fantastic film fest Grand Prix winner Lisa Takebas fantasy feature Harukos Paranormal Laboratory; and Dev Benegals Dead End, which won the NAFF Award at this years Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum  HAF .The line-up also includes 2012 NAFF Fantastic Film School alumni Cheuk-Pan Ben Lee directing and Flora Goh producing the Hong Kong-Singapore  stanley cup crime thriller Games of Suspects.It Project participants wi stanley cup ll meet with potential financiers and co-producers as well as compete for different cash and post-production awards.Coming to a total of 138 projects from 21 countries in the past seven editions, previous It Project selections have been made into films such as hit thriller The Terror Live and critically acclaimed animation The King Of Pigs.The 18th PiFan will run July 17-27 in the city of Bucheon  which adheres to the most recent Romanization of its Korean name, while PiFan keeps using  Puchon , the last iteration .NAFF will run July 20-23 at the Koryo Hotel, Buc stanley us heon.Full It Proje
