Why do sarees have an important place in Indian culture?

Sarees embody heritage, culture, artistry, and emotion; each fold and drape is a story about craftsmanship and values that have been passed down for generations. They allow women to connect to their culture with respect and also create space for individuality, yet still come together to form a deeper connection of community. Sarees remain special because they are elegant, they are an identity, and they allow women to facilitate an unbroken bond between tradition and adornment, and what our values and beliefs still mean in modern living.
