(Agence Ecofin) – Based on data from the WHO and the UN, we were able to establish a list of the most important causes of death in the world. The ranking takes into account the period from January 1 to May 1, 2020.
Although currently raging in the world, Covid-19 with its 237,469 deaths is far from being the biggest cause of death. Malaria (327,267 deaths), road traffic accidents (450,388 deaths) and cancer (2,740,193 deaths) do far more damage.
The largest cause of death over the period is infectious diseases (4,331,251 deaths), followed by malnutrition (3,731,427 deaths).
