TMJ4 NEWS In the meantime, six bus routes had to be combined into three. Boehlke says if one driver calls out, there is no replacement at this point. That means the driver is doing two routes and the kids are coming late for school that day, but it causes a lot of problems and frustrations for working parents, said Boehlke.They are working hard to attract drivers. Starting pay has gone up from $14 to $18 an hour. A lot of money has been spent on advertising, print and billboards.
