Six Feet Under1 is an American television series in 63 episodes of about 55 minutes created by Alan Ball and aired between June 3, 2001 and August 21, 2005 on HBO.
The series tells the story of a family, the Fishers, who run a funeral home in Los Angeles, Fisher & Sons, founded by the father of the family Nathaniel Fisher (Richard Jenkins). Upon his death, his two sons, Nathaniel Jr. (Peter Krause), who always said he never wanted to take over from his father, and David (Michael C. Hall), an introverted homosexual, take over the family business they have just inherited; Ruth (Frances Conroy), his widow, must assume her role as a wife; Claire (Lauren Ambrose), the youngest child in the family, struggles to find her way.
